Records

Homeschool science records that write themselves

Review week is not hard because the learning did not happen. It is hard because the evidence is scattered across two phones, a planner, and your memory. WildSnap captures the evidence at the moment of the observation, so assembling it later is a print job instead of a weekend.

What the portfolio contains

One PDF, generated from real data with no manual entry:

  • Cover sheet with learner, period, and totals
  • Dated attendance and hours log in your own timezone
  • NGSS coverage table marked Introduced, Practiced, or Demonstrated
  • Dated photo work samples with captions and species names
  • Assessments passed and vocabulary demonstrated

CSV for your own binder

Every attendance row exports as CSV so it can drop into whatever tracker, spreadsheet, or umbrella-school template you already keep. Records belong to you, not to the app.

Per-child records in a family

On the Family plan each learner keeps a separate band, dex, and record set, and each gets their own portfolio export. The household rollup exists for your own overview, not for the evaluator's packet.

Common questions

Will an evaluator accept a photo work sample?

In most portfolio states dated, captioned photographic evidence of field work is accepted alongside written work. Check your own state's requirement — we print the evidence, we do not certify compliance.

Can I export a partial year?

Yes. Choose any date range and the portfolio, hours log, and CSV all scope to it.

One photo outside today. By Friday you'll have an hours log, a species list, and a standards table you didn't have to write.
